Gibril
Gibril has been waiting 499 days for a sponsor.
Gibril lives with his parents and two brothers in a brick and zinc-roofed house in a very poor section of Freetown where access to clean water is limited and bad roads are a challenge for the residents. His father works as a carpenter on local building sites while his mother tends to the house. His father doesn't earn much money, so the family struggles.
Gibril is growing up in the hill station community in Freetown, where access to clean water is a challenge. Family homes are made of bricks with zinc roofing.
His favorite subject is Social Studies. In his spare time, he enjoys playing football with his friends. Gibril dreams of becoming an officer in the Sierra Leone army because he wants to serve his country and save lives and properties.

Develop Africa strategically empowers lives in Africa by providing educational opportunities and strengthening self-reliance so that individuals, families, and communities can create positive change in their own lives.
We empower lives by providing school supplies, scholarships, mosquito nets, solar lights, computer/vocational training, etc. We also provide microfinance loans and disaster relief. This helps them become self-sufficient and rise above poverty.
When individuals and families are strengthened, they can contribute towards community, national and international progress.
